In the Report you can find the results of real estate market development in Q1 2010 including residential market of Russia, Moscow and Moscow region as well as the detailed analyses of elite segment both town and countryside, sale and rent.
Delivery of residential space in Moscow in Q1 2010 declined. Obviously, this decline was caused by the financial crisis.
The supply volume in the residential real estate market of Moscow remained stable throughout Q1 2010. The main trend was the change of the supply pattern as apartments with the highest liquidity were quickly sold out. Active demand intensified. Still, despite all these highly important positive changes happening in the market, it’s too early to speak about a sharp complete recovery of the market.
The beginning of 2010 brought some activity to the elite residential market, and several new properties came into supply. Demand showed positive trends. Prices showed small but confident growth.
The elite rental market either Moscow or countryside was quite active in Q1 2010, as in previous years.
The countryside residential market of Moscow Region didn’t see any important changes in the overall supply pattern. The price decline decelerated, but the market saw no prices growth either. Besides, people are more interested now in big adjacent land plots.
The overall supply volume of land plots offered for open sale is still quite high versus the pre-crisis figures.

The important event for the Russian hotel market was the signing of the Order № 461 of RF Minsportturism "On the approval of the procedure of tourist industry properties classification”, which came into force on June 18, 2010. In accordance with this order, the classification of accommodation means, which will be conducted by accredited organizations, becomes obligatory: accommodation means will not be able to conduct its business without certain category allocation. The classification will be based on the system developed in 2005 by the Federal Agency for Tourism. The introduction of mandatory classification of hotels is designed, on the one hand, to clean the market from low-quality accommodation means, however, it brings into a question the functioning of the so-called "private hotels", which are often refitted apartments or houses. Belonging of the property to the certain brand will be more important for the customers of the hotels under foreign operators’ management. In June 2010 "Incom" company announced the launch of the “Novorizhskiy-2” project, which is located within 25 km from Moscow along the Novorizhskoe highway.
